Looking At . . .

Proverbs 27:19

When you look into water, you see a likeness of your face.

When you look into your heart, you see what you are really like.

I’m not sure how I feel about this scripture right now. Situations come at us in such unexpected ways. From out of nowhere. From the people in our lives we least expect it from.

And it’s brutal.

And it stirs emotions and responses I’m not comfortable with.

And I have to stop.

I don’t like what I see in the water – in the mirror – in the reflection looking back at me this morning.

So, I have to stop. Right now.

I have to reconnect to my heart because my first response isn’t coming from it.

So, I am breathing.

Am praying.

For calmness.

For wisdom.

Add stillness.

The stiller the water is – the clear the reflection.

And I will work through this.

Because I am not walking through this alone.

Thank You, God.

And I do love this scripture!

“Lord, please come very close to me in this time of frustration. Because, Lord – You are my hope and my light. Amen.”

Janet
