My Travels

JORDAN

august

Cruise with my good friend, her mother and cousin.  We all meet in Venice mid August and hang out there for a few days before the cruise begins.

We are traveling south with a port stops in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Next up is Crete, Mykonos, Athens, Rhodes, Santorini, and Katakolon, Greece. We end up back in Venice and return home from there.

I'm excited about this trip on many levels. Traveling with friends is such good soul filling time well spent - no matter where you are.

One of my favorite adventures on trips in this part of the world is visiting places that date even further than the time of Jesus back into the history of the Old Testament. It is humbling to me to sit in amazement in these places and ponder how old, how small and how important it is to God that we understand our connection to our Christian history.

I can only imagine the joy I will experience taking pictures on this trip. My friend, Lynne and I are possibly planning a day trip to Florence which I have only driven by (who does that!!!). I'm pretty excited about that too.

october

Mid October I have been invited to a wedding in Wilmington, NC. The daughter of my dear friends is getting married there.

I am considering driving because I have enough friends to stop and spend the night with along the way. My friends are a deep blessing to me and I can't drive ten plus hours a day anymore. This would be a great way to enrich my time and break up the days.

Thanks for traveling with me! Pray for safe travels and for the challenge of travel to be easy on me. My heart prays I will be able to do this for another thirty years!

september

Mid September I have been invited to accompany a small team of three others to return to the work we have engaged with in Northern India.

This will be my 7th time to go there. I have developed deep relationships with incredible people in this region. We spend time teaching, encouraging and visiting deep in the rice fields with the Dalit's who are the lowest caste system in India.

There is a strong possibility we will end our time with a side trip to Calcutta and visit another organization working there. We hope to spend time visiting the sites honoring Mother Teresa as well. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to that.
