I love facebook memories. This one popped up today. Eight years ago looking out over Innsbruck, Austria, I felt tremendously humbled at the opportunities I have to travel. I have had many trips since this day but my wonder and awe at how big God’s world is continue to amaze and humble me.
As I write this, my suitcase is beginning to talk to me. Calling out everything I need to place in it as I prepare for yet another journey.
Someone once asked me what I do for fun. I remember looking at them funny. First, I was trying to define fun in my mind, realizing we each have different definitions of it. I’ve realized somewhere along my life timeline, I have learned to harvest the good moments out of almost every situation.
Even when I am on Mi Esperanza business or church mission work, I see so many opportunities to watch God at work around me and certainly in me. That’s my definition of fun.
The friends and new acquaintances He keeps my life full of are amazingly vibrant, life filled people I love to be with. That is fun isn’t it?
As I honor the voice of my suitcase, three days out from my next trip – a grand adventure – I invite you to join me. I hope to journal along the way, sharing all the fun we anticipate.
