Early morning breakfast and departure for our cruise ship. I wonder if I would ever get tired of a life requiring a water taxi? My happy place? Standing in the back holding on to the rail and watching the sites with the wind blowing in my hair.
We boarded, settled into our cabin and went to meet the others in our group. We are a total of eight.
The next morning we woke up in Dubrovnik, Croatia. We had a tour scheduled and found our way on to the bus and settled in for a great afternoon of exploring the old fort which is where a lot of the scenes from the Game of Thrones has been filmed. The age of this sea town is humbling to me when I think of all the centuries life has unfolded here. There are parts of this area where Napoleon built structures whose remnants are still visible. Imagine living under siege inside the walls of a city. Today over 1,000 people call it home. Inside the walls. I can only imagine. Especially on days when the streets are fully packed with tourists.
Many people walked the walls around the city. I wish we had been able to take the time to do that. It takes about two hours. Another day.
We had dinner at a restaurant outside the city and on the way back to the ship, we stopped in a small port town and watched the sun set. It was fabulous. You know me and sunsets.
The next day we sailed all day. Stay tuned for our next chapter when we reach Greece.
Thanks so much for posting this blog. That way I get to go on this trip with you ❤️
