Job 8:14-15
What they trust in is very weak.
What they depend on is like a spider’s web.
A person leans on it, but it falls apart.
He holds on to it, but it gives way.
This scripture is one I take very seriously. Times in my life circumstances have literally taken my breath away. “Things” I put my trust in suddenly and completely collapsed.
When I came across it, I knew this picture would be perfect to accompany it to this page.
These are the questions we each need to ask ourselves.
What do we trust in?
What do we depend upon?
What do we lean on?
What do we hold on to?
And then, I come to these scriptures.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Do not depend on your own understanding.
In all your ways remember him.
Then he will make your paths smooth and straight.
Isaiah 40:29
He gives strength to those who are tired.
He gives power to those who are weak.
Psalm 121:1-2
I look up to the hills.
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord.
He is the Maker of heaven and earth.
Isaiah 41:13
Your hand would always be there to guide me.
Your right hand would still be holding me close.
I want to leave you with a challenge today.
Take time. For yourself.
Google is really helpful and all the study bibles you can put your hands on.
Consider how you approach what is challenging you these days.
Create a list of scriptures.
Keep them close.
Pray the exact scriptures and watch for God to begin working in you.
This is an excellent and effective way to engage often with God through the early morning, the day and night.
Desiring to move closer to God is a great place to start.
“Lord, hear our hearts desire to grow closer to You. Please fill us to overflowing with Your presence and love. Walk with us. Hold us. We want to trust, lean and depend on You and You alone. No more “things” like spider webs. We love You, Lord. Amen”
